PDX technology involves injecting
high-speed gas into fluid to create a supersonic 'zone'. This
'zone' is controlled to make it behave in a variety of ways with
remarkable efficiency and effectiveness. This technology splits
into two patented families: Atomisation and Reactor.
PDX's Atomisation technology surpasses any existing misting
technology due to the very high number and extremely small size of
the droplets generated. Our technology rapidly fills a space, and
the turbulence of this gas-like vapour keeps the droplets suspended
in the air and ensures a consistent and even coverage. In addition,
the mist can be easily directed and controlled. Its capability
provides simultaneous and consistent surface and airborne
disinfection against biological and chemical threats and
hazards.
Our atomisation products have been further developed through our
strategic partners, ANSUL (part of the Tyco Group) and EADS Defence
Group respectively, revolutionising the fire suppression,
decontamination and disinfection industries.
PDX's Reactor technology utilises a supersonic vapour flow and
condensation shockwave, which is generated by the injection of high
velocity steam. Steam is introduced into the Reactor at supersonic
conditions generating high levels of shear and turbulence within
the process fluid. This leads to the creation of a controllable,
cross bore condensation shockwave. These mechanisms provide a
number of fluid processing effects which can be used in
a multitude of applications across industries enabling large
scale producers to immediately reduce production costs, save energy
and increase outputs.
